ENACTMENT No. 5 OF 1937.

An Enactment to establish

to establish the Selangor King George V Silver Jubilee Fund.

HEREAS in the year 1935 a fund was raised by public subscription as a memorial of the Silver Jubilee of His Britannic Majesty King George V;

AND WHEREAS the subscribers to the said Fund agreed that it should be devoted to providing a home for the poor and aged Chinese in the State of Selangor and for other charitable purposes in the said State;

AND WHEREAS the subscribers to the said Fund agreed that the Trustees of the Fund shall be the Resident who shall be cx officio a Trustee and four persons from time to time to be appointed by him;

AND WHEREAS it is expedient to set out in an Enactment the origin and objects of the Selangor King George V Silver Jubilee Fund and to define the powers and duties of the trustees and managers of the Fund:

It is hereby enacted by His Highness the Sultan by and with the advice and consent of the State Council as follows:

1. This Enactment may be cited as the Selangor King Short title. George V Silver Jubilee Enactment 1937.

2. In this Enactment-

"the Fund" means the Selangor King George V Silver Jubilee Fund and includes all subscriptions and donations interest and dividends hereafter received by the Corporation mentioned in section 3 for the purposes of this Enactment and also all moneys paid to the Honorary Treasurer of the King George V Silver Jubilee Memorial Fund pursuant to the order of the Supreme Court of the Federated Malay States made on the 12th day of June 1936 in Selangor Originating Summons No. 194 of 1935.
